Nai Thon Beach is
at the north west of Phuket Island, stretched along the waterline
for a few 100 meters with pine trees as backdrop.
As you can see on the pictures
Nai Thon Beach is lined with coniferous trees.
Its near to the airport and quite far
to Patong and Phuket Town, both are about 30 km to the the
south. There are some small
villages around and developments of hotels and apartments are under
way.
Nai Thon Beach is rather low
developed since there are several hills in between the main
north-south highway of Phuket Island and also at the beach between
the beach and behind the road, its quite narrow.
On the other side it means seclusion
and this also has a value in Phuket considering that in the moment
-2008- Phuket Island is continuously covered with concrete at a
alarming rate. In this last 1 year there were more housing
developments on Phuket Island than in the last 20 years before all
together. Its unbelievable what they are doing, its a frenzy
from north to south.
The problem is the people who fuel
this -mainly the banks- have no sensitivity when enough is enough,
they just keep on doing it to pour concrete on almost every space
left until the people are fed up with the concrete landscape and
tourists will disappear.
Ok, they don't pave Nai Thon Beach
since its still to much off the usual tourist track, but with the
speed the banks are going, the destruction is unavoidable. |
