Kamala Beach is at the west coast of Phuket Island,

a few minutes drive from Patong over hills and along the west coast of Phuket, a quiet stretch of sand in front of a fishing village. Actually from the fishing village is not much to see anymore.  Kamala is a preferred area for retirees and longer term visitors of Phuket Thailand. To cater this market mall hotels, houses and apartment are along the main road and behind. On the south end are several up market hotel and real estate developments.
Kamala Beach	Kamala beach is around 2 km long and behind is open land, hills are further behind. A 4 lane road runs between the beach and the Kamala village area. A few good hotels are at the south end of the beach.
Along the road are the usual plenty of shops, small supermarkets and the notorious Indian tailors plus naturally Thai restaurants. Kamala is home of Phuket Fantasea, a fantasy show, a la Disneyland on Phuket Island. The show itself is a great experience, including elephants on the stage, flying Thai ghosts in marvelous costumes and some history on Phuket. The show is quite expensive made and the

entrance fee is also quite high. They will pick you up at any hotel on Phuket Island and also bring you back to the Phuket hotel or beach resort afterwards.

Kamala Beach about half way between the airport and Phuket Town.From Kamala a  very winding coastal road leads to Patong Beach in the south and Surin Beach to the north.

There are other accommodations in the hills on the south end of Kamala beach, mainly houses, bungalows and cottages in the hills as you can see at the Kamala pictures below. Actually Kamala Beach and Surin Beach don't look very attractive.
