Chalong
Beach is around Chalong Bay, the main public marina in Phuket
also has a pretty beach,
but nobody is using
it as a beach since the area is a commercial one
where most of the speedboats carrying tourist
between the islands south of Phuket come in.
About 200m to the
south is a local ship repair or dry dock right on
Chalong beach.
From Chalong pier to the Chalong circle are a couple of good restaurants,
guesthouses, ship supply
store, travel agents, dive supply shop and transport
facilities.
About 200m southwards is Fisherman Way, a nice
housing compound with houses for rent on short or long term.
